NEW LONDON, Mo. (WGEM) โ The Brotherhood of SouthSiders, or B.O.S.S., a motorcycle club in New London, has banded together in an effort to combat the overflow of families in need.
The Ralls County Food Pantry and the Hannibal Nutrition Center has been in need of resources to help provide meals for local families since the government shutdown began. That is where the B.O.S.S. Motorcycle Club has taken action to raise money as well as food supplies and other items that can be donated to help families during these holiday months.
Jason Stewart, president of the brotherhood, said through word-of-mouth advertising they have been able to not only get local individuals who are looking to help out with making the holidays special, but have also received donations for over $1,000 each by the Hannibal Crane Service as well as Golden Eagle Distributing.
โWe may be a little tough and rough around the edges, but itโs out being visible, you know, we are odd balls and misfits, but we have big hearts and we want to show that and thatโs how overtime we can show society that we are not like what you see on a TV show, weโre not like what you see on the news stories. We may not necessarily be your cup of tea, but we are your neighbors,โ Stewart said.
