A former Harris County constable deputy pleaded guilty Tuesday to murder inย a 2023 killing of rival motorcycle club memberย before going to a downtown club.
Aaron Grant, 39, is expectedย to serve 35 years in prison on three charges โ one of which centers onย the Jan. 27 death of motorcyclist Jesse Metzger, 32, along an Interstate 45 feeder road. Prosecutors identified Grant as a member of the Brothers East Motorcycle Club, also known as B*EAST, in court records.
The two men encountered each other by chance in the 20100 block of North Freeway after Grant left a nearby Bombshells with friends and Metzger had a meal elsewhere with his club president. While driving parallel to each other, Grant opened fire from his Honda CRV vehicle and struck Metzger on his motorcycle minutes after midnight. The father of three managed to driveย to a Home Depot parking lot, where he collapsed and died alongside his Harvey Davidson motorcycle.
Grant, meanwhile, met his friends at a gym to swap vehicles and went on to Club CLE, records show. He remarked to a friend who witnessed the shooting that the motorcyclist belonged to โthe other clubโ and that they โalways do that,โ according to court documents.
